Respectful Treatment & Acceptance

DEI Committee Mission:

"Champion an environment of respect and inclusion at Hudson Valley Credit Union. We strive to develop and implement opportunities that will cultivate DEI awareness and support our mission to create successful futures for members, employees and communities. Through education, training and connection events, we aim to support our leadership's commitment to DEI and help to foster a culture of inclusion at all levels of the organization. Our primary goal is to develop opportunities to celebrate and create visibility for historically marginalized staff and members."

Employee Resource Groups (ERG)

At Hudson Valley Credit Union, we see our employees for who they are, as well as the incredible work they do for each other, our members and our communities. HVSeeU is the lens through which we accomplish our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion work, which includes our Employee Resource Groups (ERG). Our ERGs champion an environment of respect and inclusion for groups that share a common affinity, lived experience or connection.

A primary goal includes empowering employees to identify and pursue opportunities for career development and community involvement. Through education, training, and connective events, the ERGs foster a culture of inclusion at all levels of the organization, as well as celebrate and create visibility for unique groups of employees, members and the communities we serve.

Disability Inclusion Starts With You

Voluntarily self-identifying is a good thing - it's how things change.

This video is a great summary of why HVCU asks our job applicants and employees to voluntarily self-identify if they have a disability and the critical role that self-identifying plays in ensuring equal employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

Do you have questions about obtaining a job while on SSDI or SSI benefits?

Our partners at Independent Living Inc. are here to help. Click here for more information.

HVCU is committed to the full inclusion of all qualified individuals. As part of this commitment, we will ensure that persons with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodations for the hiring process. If reasonable accommodation is needed, please contact Rebecca Gerace at Gerar@hvcu.org or 845-463-3011.
